Privacy

Short version: no cookies, no advertising, no third-party analytics, nothing sold or shared. If you turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, measurement is switched off — not anonymised, off.

What is measured

How far people get. Which checkpoints they reach, which knowledge checks they get right first time, and where they stop. This exists to find the parts of the guide that teach badly.

It is tied to a random identifier your own device generates. It is not a name, an account or a profile, and it is never joined to your email address. There is no way to look at the walk data and work out whose walk it was.

Your email address

Only if you type it in. It is stored separately from the walk data, in a different table with no identifier in common, and the two cannot be joined. It is used to send you what you asked for and nothing else, and it is never sold or shared.

The Sherpa

What you ask the Sherpa is sent to Anthropic's API to be answered, along with which checkpoint you are standing at. Your questions and its answers are not stored. What is recorded is a count — that a question was asked, and roughly how large it was — so that fair-use limits can be enforced and costs understood.

The Sherpa uses its own random identifier for those limits, kept separate from the measurement one, so that switching Do Not Track on does not stop the assistant working. Please do not type anything into it you would not want leaving your device.

Payment

Payment is handled entirely by a third-party merchant of record. Your card details never reach this site and are never seen by us. They hold your billing information under their own privacy policy, which is linked from the checkout.

Your licence key is stored only as a one-way hash. The original cannot be recovered from it.

What is stored on your device

• Your progress through the guide, so closing the tab does not lose it
• Your licence key, so you do not have to paste it every time
• The two random identifiers described above
• A reminder date, if you asked for one

All of it is in your browser's local storage, not in cookies. Clearing site data removes the lot — including your progress, so keep your key somewhere else.

Who else is involved

• Cloudflare — hosting and the database behind the guide
• Anthropic — answers the Sherpa's questions
• The payment processor — named on your receipt

There is no advertising network, no tag manager, and no third-party script of any kind. The fonts and 3D library are served from this site rather than a CDN, so no other company learns that you opened the guide.

Your rights

Ask for a copy of what is held about you, or ask for it to be deleted, at [email protected]. Since walk data is not linked to your identity, deletion requests are handled against your email address and licence.
